King's Folly
King Lennox of Urbania lost his queen when she died giving birth to his third son. Years later, when his sons were grown, King Lennox arranged marriage for his three sons with the parents of three sister princesses. When the sons refused to marry the princesses, the king couldn't send them home where they would be humiliated. Because he had failed the princesses' marriage plans, King Lennox offered them several options to stay in Urbania. One was the opportunity to become his nude concubines. To discourage them from choosing this option, Lennox indicates that concubines are ineligible to be queen. Once they became concubines, the rules of the harem are ironclad. They must live in a sequestered harem and provide sex services for the king, the king's family, and the king's guests.
